Persuing my old fundiemoo/hipmoo equivalency thesis again ....

Does it strike anyone else that the slogan 'use your breasts for the right reason' is incredibly sex-negative, biodeterminist, prudish and basically highly fundiesque in nature?

I wonder how many of them saw their breasts as non-sexual milk-jugs before having kids? My guess is not many.

You're absolutely right, it's a very anti-feminist attitude that there is a "right" or "wrong" use for the breasts. Who chooses what is right/wrong? What makes breastfeeding right? Well, breasts-for-breastfeeding-only doesn't allow for untethered female sexuality, and it does insinuate domesticity and marriage to the exclusion of any other lifestyles.
A woman who isn't using her body for procreative purposes (and who is purposely partaking in sexual enjoyment or pleasure) is too liberated for these fools.

I spit on them and their decisions about how I should use my body.

Yep, except this time they're using it in SERVICE of women's rights. *cough*

I may have to do something with that later when I get a chance to open Photoshop. It's positively begging to be satirized.

Will do! I won't be teaching in the lab with Photoshop for a couple more hours but that just gives me time to think of what to do with it.

I was thinking "use your boobs for the RIGHT reason...tittyfuckingisnormal.com"

Actually, if you're going to use tittyfucking as the theme, I heartily recommend you go for animation that is as offensive as possible while still hewing to the original design.

Oh, didn't you know? BOOBS ARE FOR THE BAAAAAAAAYYYBEEEEEEEEEES AND ANYONE WHO THINKS THEY ARE IN ANY WAY SEXUAL IS AN ANTI BREASTFEEDING, ANTI-FEMINIST SLAVE TO THE PATRIARCHY.

Jesus, I think I lost IQ points typing that.

Funny how the concept of feminism gets so fucking distorted in their rhetoric. I thought the idea was that women and men be equal, hmm? And that sexual women were not harlots and whores?
Gee, I must have been dreaming. I see the light now, women who do anything with their bodies that isn't meant to support men's production of as many children as possible are anti-feminist!

The entire debate has just illustrated completely confused female identity is in our culture. It's almost like the line is drawn in the sand between "the female body for sex" and "the female body as only utilitarian", with no other choices. I'm on the CF/more-sex-than-utilitarian side of it obviously, but I feel almost bitter at the fact that I sort of have to objectify myself within the argument either way. To say the "right" reason is just...wrong.

It also completely ignores those who can't breastfeed, for whatever reason. I mean, spread awareness that it's good for the sproggen, sure, but I really wish they'd stop attacking everyone else.

I like my sexual and well-decorated breasts the way they are, thanks. And while I may be considered abnormal or immoral for other reasons, and I'm tolerant of that, don't tell me I'm using my body in the wrong way. It's MY body. However I use it is the right way.

Heh, I recently had a breast reduction, and the fact that I'm now unable to produce milk makes me feel more like a woman and less like an animal. I love it.

My breasts are not sexual. They are not babyfeeders. Their purpose is being annoying sacks of fat hanging off of my ribcage. To me, they have no use, and therefore there is no right or wrong reason to "use" them. There just is no use for them. Period.

I personally get irked by both sides--the people who think that boobs are nothing but auto-refill baby bottles, and the people who think that boobs are some be-all of their identity as a "sexy" woman. Who cares what purpose you assign for your boobs? Just do what you want to do with them and stop worrying about everyone else's breasts.

Well, I've seen it often in this community..."reasons not to give birth - the changes that come with it like saggy boobs" and so forth...

Sorry if I missed your sarcasm, but it feels like a prevalent thought on this community. I may be 20 and look OK, but it's still stupid statements like that that make me kind of pissed off.

Got a link to this image on the original server? They seem to have wised up to the fact that it's antifeminist and changed it -- which doesn't make the fact that they came up with it any less appalling.

The right reason ... Yeah. They make it sound as if it were the only reason breasts are there for. Aside from sexual fun I believe breasts have other functions as well.

A nice and soft place to have your baby snuggle up against, for example.

Now don't you come screaming and yelling at me ... o.O°
I mean, don't we all enjoy the softness of breasts?

We lesbians and heterosexual men that is.

Odd as it sounds, I found local honey, eaten regularly, calmed down some of my allergies. Bit of an immunity or something.

Don't forget the bisexuals! We're not all drunk straight girls trying to impress boys!

Last Fridasy proved me wrong yet again in considering myself being 100/ lesbo.

Honey? Hm, I should give it a try.

I tihnk there are 100%s out there, but they're rare.

The honey (has to be local) is supposed to work by giving you teeny little doses of the pollen from around you, which builds a bit more of a tolerance. I tried it over the past winter and I noticed a real difference. What with having a sense of smell now.

Ayup.

It's a sort of virgin mother/whore dichotomy, don't you think? No, boobs aren't sexual or aesthetic at all! Their sole function is for nourishing offspring, and you're a sexist pervert if you think otherwise! I don't think that's any better than insisting that breasts are solely sexual and that breastfeeding is somehow wrong.

Seriously though, what's the subtext there? "Don't be like those little whores who flaunt their breasts around. Use them to be a chaste, nurturing mother!"
